New L’Oreal!

This post has been a long time coming. I picked up two new (to me) L’Oreal products quite a few weeks ago, but I wanted to see how I really felt about them before I wrote a post in order to give you guys my FULL Opinion. So, lets get started.

First up is the L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream Treatment. The product has 0.5 FL oz which is average for an eye cream, The packaging is clean, white and quite nice, the container is a solid glass or porcelain material, thick enough that if dropped it won’t break.

The product itself is quite nice and I noticed a difference almost instantly after using it. Right before I purchased this product, I had been having trouble sleeping, studying all day and stressing over my exams, meaning I had horrible under eye bags. This product helped reduce the bags and brighten up the area! Not only did it help me diminish my dark circles, but the skin around my eyes is super soft. I do not suffer to badly from eye wrinkles yest, all I can say is I do notice how well this product works for my other issues and overall, this product is a great find!

The second product that I picked up was the L’Oreal Age perfect Anti- Sagging and Ulta Hydrating Day Cream With Dermo-Peptide SPF 15- Long name I KNOW! The packaging is just as great as the eye cream, very thick glass like material and white coloring.

Besides the packaging being very appealing, I love the product! I am the type of person that likes SPF to be in my lotion because lets be real, I am too lazy to apply SPF and THEN lotion before starting my makeup. I’m just not that type of girl 😮 *shocker* I really enjoy this lotion because the SPF doesn’t start to bunch up or peel off (something I have noticed in other brands).

Have you tried any L’Oreal skincare?

7 Things To Do When You’re Feeling Burnt Out

Sometimes we get overwhelmed for one reason or another, it could be when we do the same thing day after day, we have a heavy work load, we are stressed out, etc. . I try to blog as often as possible and most of the time it is a truly great, comforting experience. I check my emails, post to Instagram, write. Occasionally though, I do have moments of burn out because I also work and I am a full time college student. At those times it can be incredibly difficult for me to be inspired and create new content. When this happens, I like to give myself a little pep talk and take a much needed break.

  1. Take a break AND don’t feel guilty about it!
  2. Look for inspiration- Pinterest is a great place for that!
  3. Remember why you started
  4. Take a moment to be grateful for all that you have. This will bring a new found positivity to you’re mind!
  5. Create a plan on how to get back of track.
  6. Do not stress. Give yourself the time you need to come back stronger.
  7. Change up your routine! Add some spunk into your life. Curl your hair instead of straightening it, have different meals, take a walk instead of watching and extra episode of whatever it may be, just change it up!

How do you handle feeling burnt out?

Tips on Everyday Glam In A Rush

We’ve all been there, woken up to the realization that we’ve only got 30 minutes until we’re supposed to be out the door, on the way to work or our next class. Mornings (and sometimes afternoons or evenings) like this are the worst and they are also when time is the most important. Having these tips on how to do quick, easy and beautiful makeup can really come in handy.

Tips on Everyday Glam In A Rush

Keep it organized. This is the first and very most important step! Keep the makeup area organized. We do not have time to be looking all over the place for that bronzer we used two days ago or the setting spray that “I could of swore I had here yesterday”.

Have a quick face routine. Yes, foundation and contour is great for glam makeup, but that takes more time than we’ve got. Opts for a BB Cream and a nice bronzer. BB Cream can be very Hydrating, but also matte, so pick the best for your individual skin. Bronzer is great because it doesn’t have to be too precisely placed; a quick dust around the face will do. I recommend the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and the Physcian’s Formula Butter Bronzer- They are both amazing!

Less IS more. YES. Don’t worry about eye liner- you don’t have the time. Put on some mascara on your top and bottom lashes and move on. Skip the eye shadow- that will be for another day and do not even attempt the lip liner- we don’t want wonky shaped lips! Add some nice lip gloss.

Skip Any time consuming brow routine Brow pomade is too time consuming! WE GOTTA GO! use a tinted brow gel and get to gettin’.

Spray the face with some setting spray real quick to seal the deal and go get dressed!

My Purse Essentials!

I am a girls that is crazy about bags! I absolutely love collecting purses and they are all like my children. I do not use one purse more than another and I don’t usually use one bag for more than a day at a time. My biggest rule is to ALWAYS clean out my purse at the end of the night and make sure all paper, products, ANYTHING is out of my bag. I do this so that I can keep my purses pristine for a long time.

Firstly I always have some makeup in my purse because I always want to look my best when out and about. The main pieces I have are Lipgloss, because I can’t stand to have my lips dry, my pressed powder, and my fave little brush for applying the powder. The powder and brush are a big MUST HAVE because here in Florida, it’s pretty much a sauna 60-80% of the time and I need to touch up *especially when I get those sunglass marks on my nose*.  My go to lippy is the NYX butter gloss, I’ve been using the shade tiramisu a lot; it’s a really pretty nude shade.

My lotion of choice which right now, is this new mini from Bath And Body Works. I really like how small this is for on the go. I always need a cream in my bag because my hands get so dry!

Debuting next is my nail oil pen. I like to grow my natural nails, so I keep these nail oil pens on me at all times. I apply the oil on my cuticles, on the sides and under my nails three times a day and it makes all the difference in the world with how beautifully my nails grow!

Finally, my phone charger. I love to have this in my bag because I use my phone for so many different things and I am always talking on it as I am in a long distance relationship. I also jot down any quick notes or ideas I get about anything life related.

Teal Takeover

Yesterday I was practicing my makeup skills and this look actually came out so good! My first thought was “I have to blog this!” I love to share new looks with you guys, especially because it can take a lot of time to figure out new looks. Not only does it take a lot of time, but bold colors can be intimidating and I want everyone to be confident in their makeup! If you are like me and bold colors can scare you, kick it to the curb and rock that bold look!

This look was inspired by an outfit that I bought when shopping with my mom, in this store called Olive. I have been trying to come up with something to match the outfit and this is the look!

The main attraction/ star of the show is the Jaclyn Hill Palette! *My fave palette ever*

I always start with my eyes concealed with my Maybelline FitMe and set it with a translucent powder.

The first colors I went in with were Creamsicle and butter. I mixed the two shades together and blended them into my crease (with a fluffy brush) as well as above my crease; dang near my brow! You can bring it up as far as you like because makeup is personalized!

I tend to go above the crease because I have pretty hooded eyes and it helps to see the makeup on my eye better.

Next I took the shade Hunts on a more densley packed brush and I put that directly in the crease.

Then I took a flat brush and packed this blue-green shade, named Jada on my whole lid as well as up into my crease where hunts is.

Bringing the green up into the red color darkens up the red and makes the look as a whole, more cohesive.

For my lower lash line, I mixed Creamsicle and Butter on the same fluffy brush I used originally and blended the colors on the lash line and a bit lower. Then I took a pencil brush and blended Hunts very close to my lash line, and finished with shade Jada right on top of where I put Hunts.

I used my Bobbi Brown Gel liner to line my top lash line before applying my false lashes!

Finishing touches:

On the lips I used KKW Creme liquid lipstick in the shade KIKI. Anything in a nude-pinky nude would look great with this (my opinion)!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I had a bit of a freak out moment because I had done this beautiful eye makeup look, I was in Miami, on the way to a birthday dinner with my boyfriend and my eye decided to start watering like crazyy. I legit had a big spot on the side of my eye from where my concealer had wiped off from the tears and I didn’t bring my concealer with me to fix it! The gps ended up taking us to the wrong place when were on the way to his moms house and luckily the place we ended up was literally right by a walgreens! We ran inside and I bought my fav concealer *Maybelline Fit Me* in the shade sand and I fixed my eye right up! Since this is my fave concealer I decided it deserved a review!

This concealer is a great price and honestly is a great dupe for some of the more popular high end concealers. This concealer is super creamy and blends out like a dream. I like to put a decently light amount on because the coverage is quite nice. I would actually describe the coverage as medium to full coverage if you build it up.

I really like the applicator on this concealer, I think I generally like the skinny wands because it feels satisfying when I apply it as well as I feel like I can control how much goes on my eye area. I always seem to put too much on with a squeezy tube, so this is nice packaging.

Overall, I really like this concealer and it is def my fave at the moment (and has been for about two years now)!

BB Cream Or Foundation?

It seems that most people use foundation these days, but I personally have always been a BB cream girl. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I really REALLY want to branch out and be a part of the foundation crew, but my skin is UBER sensitive. I could literally apply a foundation at 8AM and be breaking out by the end of the day. I don’t know what it is, but the heavy cream products clog my pores up so easily! I have tried a few different foundations such as Smashbox studioskin and the LOreal True match (which at the time, I thought would work because so many people said it’s great) but neither of these seemed to work with my skin. Honestly, I have never tried a foundation that didn’t irritate my skin and this really halted my testing them out. I can’t be spending my whole paycheck on foundations, even though I do really want to find one that works! I like the idea of foundation because sometimes I want a full glam look and I want my foundation to cover EVERYthing. Anyways, my ride or die product is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream! I have worn this pretty much everyday for years now and it never breaks me out. The coverage is pretty light and the product goes on quickly, so it is great for everyday use. I thank God that my skin is pretty much always clear because I can get away with wearing this BB cream, even when I do glam looks. One con to the BB Cream team is that if I am breaking out, the world will have to see it for a while, cause me trying to put a full coverage foundation on will more likely than not cause more break outs!

So, are you the BB cream or Foundation type?

My boyfriend on what makeup is

I was browsing around, looking for some blog post ideas and came across this one from Barely there beauty, so credit goes to her and you can find her post here.

I am a big ol’ makeup lover, I wear makeup pretty much everyday and I thought this blog post was very fitting. I honestly don’t know what I was expecting or how much I figured he knew about makeup, buuuut you guys will love it!

“The thing you put on your face before you put on anything else.” Yes! Good job hun, we’re off to a good start!

“See that’s where it gets confusing for me. Foundation to me, is what you put on before anything else, but that’s primer… So, is that what you put on your face after primer?” UHH, yes..

“The shit you put on your face to conceal shit.” I mean, you’re not wrong…

“Powder is like the stuff that ummm…. is powderrr?… I don’t know what it’s used for.” LOL this one is okay because I use powder all over my face, for many different reasons. I’LL LET THIS ONE SLIDE!!

“The stuff that makes you shine.” uhhh noo bb. Actually, where did you get that from!

“Contour is the shadow thing.” I always tell him that the point of contouring is to create shadows on the face soo, he’s good!

“That’s actually the shit that makes you shine!” LOLOL YES.

“Makes you have rosy cheeks.” AWWW!! YES.

“Powder you put on your eyebrows, I don’t know wtf it’s for though!” bb you have a potty mouth!

“I know what it looks like, but I don’t know how to put that into words..wait maybe i’m confusing it with mascara?” *me explaining eyeshadow is the colorful stuff I put on my eyelids* “OHH I was getting it confused with the black line shit, but THAT’S mascara” ME: WAIT WHAT??? That’s not mascara!

“The black lines? You know.. I don’t know what to tell you because honestly, I thought this was the black lines!! What is mascara!?” That’s the black stuff I put on my eyelashes!

*mumbles* “The black lines that go on your eyes.” LOL GOOD JOB

“The stuff that you put around your lips to put your gloss on. It’s like the setup?” Yes.

“That’s the stuff you put on your lips after the lip liner YESS! You my dear, are correct.

Oh! Is that the spray that you put on your makeup to make sure it stays on?LOL YEUSS
