Rimmel London Edge Your Look

Who doesn’t love new lipstick?!? I certainly do…Recently I received the new Rimmel London Matte lipstick in the shade “Plum This Show” and the satin finish in the shade “For Sure “.

Rimmel London edge Your Look

I want to begin by saying that BOTH formulas are easy to apply, last a long time and are wonderfully pigmented.

Individualy…

The satin- shade: For Sure

Rimmmel London’s “stay satin” formula has a somewhat shiny finish and I really like that because I typically prefer a glossy lip. I love this shade as it is a beautiful purple and it lasts for hours on the lips! The only con I could find with this lipstick is that it was not transfer proof. However, you can easily apply a thin layer without worry of the product becoming chunky or balling up *that doesn’t happen*YAY*

very much transferable

The Matte- shade: Plum This Show

The first thing I noticed was that the lipstick dried down quickly while not being overly drying on the lips. I usually don’t prefer matte lipsticks because they can cause my lips to feel like the Sahara Dessert, but this formula was nothing like that! My favorite part of the “stay matte” formula is that they are transfer proof! So, if you are eating, drinking, or kissing your spouse, your’e in the clear!

I highly recommend both of these formulas!

Makeup Eraser?!

So recently I was sent a sample of the makeup eraser. If you don’t know what the makeup eraser is, then let me tell ya. The Makeup Eraser is basically a reusable cloth used to take your makeup off. One side of the towel is for the actual removal of the makeup and the other side is to exfoliate your skin.

  1. The instructions simply state to wet the towel with warm water
  2. Gently Erase your makeup
  3. Flip towel and exfoliate

I’ll be honest here and say that I went into this expecting the product not to work at all. I have tried to take my makeup off with a towel before and it just didn’t go well. Normal towels seem to actually smudge my makeup around and hardly pick up anything without aggressively wiping ( which you should never do!).

So, I was in my bathroom thinking about how this isn’t going to work, wetting the towel with warm water as the instruction stated and then began to wipe my cheek. My eyes bulged open when I saw that the Make Eraser actually cut through my makeup an FULLY removed it. I then thought “Oh okay, lets try the eye makeup.” because we all know, that’s the hardest to remove. I started wiping my eyes and this removed that too! I didn’t press too hard at all. This towel actually worked!

I will say that I am not sure how well the exfoliating side works. I am used to chemical exfoliating products; ones that I can see the dead skin peel off. The exfoliating side of the towel is pretty soft and my overall thoughts on that part are undecided because I really couldn’t tell.

Even if I couldn’t immediately tell if the exfoliating side of the towel worked, I will be purchasing the full sized towel. All I had to do was wet this with warm water and it took my makeup off! This is completely worth my money at $20 because it is reusable! This product will last you up to 5 years! Imagine how much money you could save yourself by just reusing this towel (washing it of course)! If you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy having to repurchase your makeup wipes, this is the product for you!

Tips on Everyday Glam In A Rush

We’ve all been there, woken up to the realization that we’ve only got 30 minutes until we’re supposed to be out the door, on the way to work or our next class. Mornings (and sometimes afternoons or evenings) like this are the worst and they are also when time is the most important. Having these tips on how to do quick, easy and beautiful makeup can really come in handy.

Tips on Everyday Glam In A Rush

Keep it organized. This is the first and very most important step! Keep the makeup area organized. We do not have time to be looking all over the place for that bronzer we used two days ago or the setting spray that “I could of swore I had here yesterday”.

Have a quick face routine. Yes, foundation and contour is great for glam makeup, but that takes more time than we’ve got. Opts for a BB Cream and a nice bronzer. BB Cream can be very Hydrating, but also matte, so pick the best for your individual skin. Bronzer is great because it doesn’t have to be too precisely placed; a quick dust around the face will do. I recommend the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and the Physcian’s Formula Butter Bronzer- They are both amazing!

Less IS more. YES. Don’t worry about eye liner- you don’t have the time. Put on some mascara on your top and bottom lashes and move on. Skip the eye shadow- that will be for another day and do not even attempt the lip liner- we don’t want wonky shaped lips! Add some nice lip gloss.

Skip Any time consuming brow routine Brow pomade is too time consuming! WE GOTTA GO! use a tinted brow gel and get to gettin’.

Spray the face with some setting spray real quick to seal the deal and go get dressed!

What are your quick makeup tips?

Teal Takeover

Yesterday I was practicing my makeup skills and this look actually came out so good! My first thought was “I have to blog this!” I love to share new looks with you guys, especially because it can take a lot of time to figure out new looks. Not only does it take a lot of time, but bold colors can be intimidating and I want everyone to be confident in their makeup! If you are like me and bold colors can scare you, kick it to the curb and rock that bold look!

This look was inspired by an outfit that I bought when shopping with my mom, in this store called Olive. I have been trying to come up with something to match the outfit and this is the look!

The main attraction/ star of the show is the Jaclyn Hill Palette! *My fave palette ever*

I always start with my eyes concealed with my Maybelline FitMe and set it with a translucent powder.

The first colors I went in with were Creamsicle and butter. I mixed the two shades together and blended them into my crease (with a fluffy brush) as well as above my crease; dang near my brow! You can bring it up as far as you like because makeup is personalized!

I tend to go above the crease because I have pretty hooded eyes and it helps to see the makeup on my eye better.

Next I took the shade Hunts on a more densley packed brush and I put that directly in the crease.

Then I took a flat brush and packed this blue-green shade, named Jada on my whole lid as well as up into my crease where hunts is.

Bringing the green up into the red color darkens up the red and makes the look as a whole, more cohesive.

For my lower lash line, I mixed Creamsicle and Butter on the same fluffy brush I used originally and blended the colors on the lash line and a bit lower. Then I took a pencil brush and blended Hunts very close to my lash line, and finished with shade Jada right on top of where I put Hunts.

I used my Bobbi Brown Gel liner to line my top lash line before applying my false lashes!

Finishing touches:

On the lips I used KKW Creme liquid lipstick in the shade KIKI. Anything in a nude-pinky nude would look great with this (my opinion)!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I had a bit of a freak out moment because I had done this beautiful eye makeup look, I was in Miami, on the way to a birthday dinner with my boyfriend and my eye decided to start watering like crazyy. I legit had a big spot on the side of my eye from where my concealer had wiped off from the tears and I didn’t bring my concealer with me to fix it! The gps ended up taking us to the wrong place when were on the way to his moms house and luckily the place we ended up was literally right by a walgreens! We ran inside and I bought my fav concealer *Maybelline Fit Me* in the shade sand and I fixed my eye right up! Since this is my fave concealer I decided it deserved a review!

This concealer is a great price and honestly is a great dupe for some of the more popular high end concealers. This concealer is super creamy and blends out like a dream. I like to put a decently light amount on because the coverage is quite nice. I would actually describe the coverage as medium to full coverage if you build it up.

I really like the applicator on this concealer, I think I generally like the skinny wands because it feels satisfying when I apply it as well as I feel like I can control how much goes on my eye area. I always seem to put too much on with a squeezy tube, so this is nice packaging.

Overall, I really like this concealer and it is def my fave at the moment (and has been for about two years now)!

Have you tried the FitMe Concealer?

BB Cream Or Foundation?

It seems that most people use foundation these days, but I personally have always been a BB cream girl. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I really REALLY want to branch out and be a part of the foundation crew, but my skin is UBER sensitive. I could literally apply a foundation at 8AM and be breaking out by the end of the day. I don’t know what it is, but the heavy cream products clog my pores up so easily! I have tried a few different foundations such as Smashbox studioskin and the LOreal True match (which at the time, I thought would work because so many people said it’s great) but neither of these seemed to work with my skin. Honestly, I have never tried a foundation that didn’t irritate my skin and this really halted my testing them out. I can’t be spending my whole paycheck on foundations, even though I do really want to find one that works! I like the idea of foundation because sometimes I want a full glam look and I want my foundation to cover EVERYthing. Anyways, my ride or die product is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream! I have worn this pretty much everyday for years now and it never breaks me out. The coverage is pretty light and the product goes on quickly, so it is great for everyday use. I thank God that my skin is pretty much always clear because I can get away with wearing this BB cream, even when I do glam looks. One con to the BB Cream team is that if I am breaking out, the world will have to see it for a while, cause me trying to put a full coverage foundation on will more likely than not cause more break outs!

So, are you the BB cream or Foundation type?

Get ready with me

Hey everyone! I am going to a wedding today, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for a get ready with me! One thing I always do is start with my eye makeup that way if any shadow falls onto the face, I do not mess up my whole face of makeup. I recommend trying this if you do not already!

I started by applying my concealer as an eye primer and then setting it with a skin colored powder. Any concealer or powder will work, I used my Fit Me concealer and my Fit Me powder

Then I went in with the lightest mauve-y color from my Oh- so -loved Carli Bybel palette.

I took this shade and put it lightly all over my eye lid and took it up to about my brow bone

Then I went in with the second darkest purple shade and mixed it with the matte brown. I took these colors and lightly blended them into my crease. REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THIS STEP! Really guys, make sure your shadow is blended the way you want it to be before moving on, or else it will look really sloppy later on in the look.

Next I went in with just the brown and put that in the outer V of my eye and lightly blended it so that it didn’t look too harsh

Then I took the golden shimmer shade on a wet brush and packed it on my lid, making sure to not cover the outer V that we just blended in the previous step.

After that I usually go in with my eyebrow powder. I do this step next because I like to have my eyebrows done to help guide me on how I do my liner and how far out I take it! I am big on natural brows just because my eyebrows are pretty full and they just look better on my face.

After brows I used my fav mascara and my fav liner real quick and I decided to go without lashes because I was rushing and I also think the look came out good without them!
Then, since this was an outdoor wedding, I went in with my r.o.d Hourglass Veil Mineral primer and my Matte BB Cream. This CoverGirl BB cream is great because it’s matte (great for outside days) and the coverage is thick for a BB cream!

Then of course I concealed my under eyes with my Fit Me concealer in the shade sand and I used my Fit ME powder to bake. TIP: if you do not have a loose powder to bake your under eye, just rub a plastic lid or the end of your brush on the powder and it will turn the top layer to loose powder!

Then I used my IBY Beauty palette to contour! I mixed contour one and Highlight shade 3, then I cut the contour with some yellow powder!

Then I used my ULTA brand blush highight duo because it gives a very nice peachy glow

The highlight I used was the second highlight shade in the Carli Bybel palette, which I’ve have hit pan on!

I used this lip liner

And this lip in the shade peaches and cream to top off the look!

Finally, my last step is setting the face with Mac Fix+! Any setting spray will do, I used this because it sets my makeup for all day!

Review: Veil mineral primer by Hourglass cosmetics

Hey everyone! I though this would be a great post for those of you looking for a new high end primer! I know sometimes I am looking for something high end that ACTUALLY works, so here is a review of what is my opinion is a very under rated primer! I will be breaking this down into two parts because I feel as though that is the easiest way to read a review. ONE being my overall thoughts on performance, price and things like such and TWO the texture. Continue reading
